This session dives into Japanese Anime (Manga) and its influence on people like us in IT who are motivated to pursue careers in STEM, networking, and cybersecurity. We will discuss how specific Anime genres (e.g., big robots, cyberpunk, isekai, etc.) foreshadowed new technologies. Presenters Tomomi Imamura, Didier Contis, and Ryan Leavitt, who grew up in Japan, France, and Wisconsin (respectively), and watched a wide range of anime, will discuss their perspectives and how the anime shaped their interests.
