Biography
Ken Fanta is a seasoned IT leader with over 30 years of experience in the field, including more than 17 years in complex university environments. As the Business Relationship Manager (BRM) at the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Medicine and Public Health, Ken builds and nurtures strategic partnerships to deliver impactful IT solutions. His leadership has driven improvements in service delivery through initiatives grounded in the BRM mission: “Improve ourselves, our organization, and our world by connecting relationships to results, emphasizing People, Purpose, and Planet.”
Previously, Ken served as IT Director for the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation and the Department of Urology, where he managed substantial budgets and led crucial transitions, including establishing independent IT infrastructures for both departments. He also co-chaired the School of Medicine and Public Health IT Directors Committee and played a pivotal role in the success of several large-scale projects, including a major transition to Cisco VOIP.
Ken holds a Master’s degree in Information and Communication Technology from UW-Stout and is a Certified Business Relationship Manager. Beyond his professional pursuits, he is an engaged mentor in the IT community and a certified swimming official at the Club Level, High School Level, and NCAA level, reflecting his commitment to both professional development and community engagement. His dedication to strategic collaboration and continuous improvement makes him a vital asset in the IT landscape.
