Biography
Lily Sullivan works at the UW–Madison, within DoIT Academic Technology, Learn@UW, specializing in AI-enabled learning systems architecture for non-credit and compliance training environments. Her work focuses on designing scalable course production pipelines that integrate generative AI tools, including Articulate Rise 360 AI Assistant, into automated workflows supporting SCORM packaging and LMS delivery.
She develops AI-assisted systems that transform source materials into structured learning experiences, incorporating human-in-the-loop validation models where instructional designers and subject matter experts verify accuracy, regulatory compliance, and instructional alignment. Her approach addresses key AI risks, including but not limited to: hallucination, content drift, and overgeneration- through constraint-based prompting, grounded source-of-truth models, and formal quality assurance processes.
At UW–Madison, she supports large-scale compliance training initiatives, including HIPAA-related programs, reaching thousands of learners annually. Through her education consulting firm, Vali-Valley, LLC, she has developed graduate-level curriculum and clinical training programs, including work with the Culinary Institute of America and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) training. Lily also mentors and advocates for teenagers with disabilities in educational settings and mentors young women on creating their own small businesses.
Her work focuses on leveraging AI to reduce development time and manual lift while maintaining governance standards, accessibility, and instructional integrity across enterprise learning systems.
In her spare time, Lily loves to travel. She is an avid reader. Lily resides in central Arkansas most of the year with her family.
