Biography
Stefan has been working in information technology and cybersecurity at UW-Madison since 2001. In 2020, Stefan became the CIO/IT Director for the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. He is responsible for overseeing infrastructure and data management, web services, application development, endpoint and user support, and instructional and research technologies for the college. Previously, Stefan was the UW-Madison Deputy Chief Information Officer, Director of Cybersecurity Risk Management, and the campus HIPAA Security Officer. Stefan’s accomplishments range from establishing mandatory access control processes for enterprise applications to developing standards for assisting the security of identity management systems. He played a prominent role in the re-branding of the UW-Madison Officer of Cybersecurity and drafting the 2015-2029 Cybersecurity Strategic plan.
