Highlights – 2021
About 285 IT Professionals attended the second virtual and multi-day UW IT Professionals Conference on June 3rd and 4th to make connections among campus IT colleagues and learn what is going on around campus as we prepare to head back to campus.
In its fifth year, we had live presentations, panels, workshops, and networking events as well as many pre-recorded presentations, most with live Q&As.
Some notable event highlights include:
- Keynote, Dr. Mar Hicks talked about the history of women in computing and how that can help us make decisions in the future
- The 2nd Annual IT Recognition Awards Ceremony
- Live Workshops: Map It! and Learn CSS Grid and Flexbox in 1 Hour!
- IT Talk Technical Live Panel to kick off the discussion about inclusivity in technology
- Networking events including IT CommuniTea, CoP Drop-In Session, and Virtual Happy Hour
Many campus IT Professionals spoke at this year’s event. See their full presentations here.
This event was sponsored and organized by UW-Madison IT professionals for the campus IT community. The UW IT Professionals Conference provides opportunities to talk shop and brainstorm solutions that affect the daily IT experience of higher education pros and ultimately, their stakeholders.
