Biography
Cori is an Instructional Designer in DoIT-AT Learn@UW supporting non-credit programs within the Office of Human Resources and Office of Compliance. She has worked in higher education for 15 years in various roles, and has a passion for utilizing educational technology to create engaging programs that incorporate best practices of learning theory and design, accessibility, and user experience. As a certified peer reviewer by Quality Matters, Cori is adept at designing, developing, and evaluating courses and programs for quality assurance.
Joining UW-Madison in February 2020, at the very beginning of the pandemic, Cori was part of a response team to assist with Continuity of Instruction efforts by consulting with faculty on transitioning their face-to-face classes to the online environment for remote instruction. She also collaborated and consulted with colleagues and campus partners on the best methods to design, develop, and facilitate the high-impact new student orientation program – SOAR – for online participation.
Prior to moving to Wisconsin, Cori worked at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock as an eLearning Librarian, teaching information and digital literacy as well as advocating for using Open Educational Resources (OER). While at UA Little Rock, she also taught undergraduate writing composition as a part-time Lecturer.
In her spare time, Cori enjoys ice skating, which she learned to do for the first time as an adult. She is now an active member of the Madison Ice Diamonds’ adult synchronized ice skating team. In warm weather, Cori enjoys exploring State and National Parks.
