Description:
We had a problem that our Linux users needed to mount our file server, but we didn’t want to give them any sudo permissions. So we found a way to allow the system to do the mounting with only a read permission of the share and then allow the users to get their individual permissions to the already mounted share all without a sudo command.
This process works with the DoIT hosted file server and the newly launched research drives as well. People should walk away knowing there is more than one way to handle drive mounting in Linux.
