Biography

Lindsay Bolan is the Software Solutions Architect for the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. Her focus is on leveraging technology to help users automate tasks and business processes, specializing in Jira Cloud and Microsoft Power Automate.

She has been with the University of Wisconsin for over eight years, starting out as the Technology Coordinator for Andersen Library at UW-Whitewater, where she helped student teachers learn how the right technology can enhance any lesson plan. In 2019, she transferred to UW-Madison as an End User Support Specialist at DFMCH and quickly took charge of the existing ticketing and inventory systems. In 2022, she was promoted to Software Solutions Architect, and in 2023, she earned the Atlassian Jira Administrator for Cloud certification.

Lindsay also serves as a co-chair for the UW IT Mentoring Program, joining in 2022 after participating as a mentee in 2019-2020. Mentorship from supervisors and colleagues throughout her career helped her realize that IT was the right path, despite starting out in social work. One of her primary goals in joining the mentorship committee was to “pay it forward” by helping others who took a non-traditional path into IT to build their confidence in their own skills and value their experiences, no matter where they started or how they found IT.
