Biography

Oakes Dobson works on the UW-Madison Testing & Cyber Defense Team (TCD) as a Security Tools Analyst. He specializes in supporting campus endpoint security tools, and penetration testing. In his work supporting campus’ primary endpoint protection tool, Oakes has had the chance to train, learn from, and collaborate with many distributed IT administrators from various departments on campus. This collaboration is one of Oakes’ favorite parts of the job, bolstered by his time working as a student technician for a distributed IT department prior to joining the TCD team. Since joining the team, Oakes has obtained his GSEC and GPEN certifications, and is currently taking a Python coding course to expand his technical skillset. Outside of work, Oakes enjoys running and binge-watching old Godzilla movies.
